What is opportunity charging for a forklift?
Opportunity charging literally means charging when the opportunity arises. In the case of forklifts, this involves intermittent charging at times when the machine is not being driven anyway. As a result, the forklift does not necessarily need to be completely empty before you start charging.
This charging strategy is particularly interesting for electric forklifts with a lithium-ion battery. Lithium-ion can easily handle short charging sessions. As a result, you can charge the forklift during breaks and then continue working without long periods of downtime.
Practical example: Charging for 15 to 30 minutes during breaks can be enough in many work situations to get through the day reliably.
